Cube is an open source multiplayer and singleplayer first person shooter game built on an entirely new and very unconventional engine. Cube is a landscape-style engine that pretends to be an indoor FPS engine, which combines very high precision dynamic occlusion culling with a form of geometric mipmapping on the whole world for dynamic LOD for configurable fps & graphic detail on most machines. Within the game 2 Game modes are available, each one is selected by clicking the appropriate start button on the title page. Both modes are detailed below. In both modes you control your bat using either the stylus or keys. You can use your stylus to control the bat by moving on the actual table or by moving the stylus on the small rectangle display underneath the table display.

The year is 2112. Decades of neglect had reaped havoc upon the inhabitants of planet Earth. Global climate changes resulted in the accelerated melting of polar ice caps which in turn had swallowed large areas of previously populated land mass. Combined with the rebirth of nuclear power and the numerous disasters which followed large parts of our planet were rendered un-inhabitable. Earth’s resources are at an all time low and can no longer sustain the uncontrollable population growth.

It is a port of the recenly-GPL-released Quake 3 Arena from iD Software to Windows CE 4.2 for Pocket PC. Sure, the game still runs at like 5 FPS, but at least we know how to make it faster for future builds. Expect continuing development on this port. In the meantime, enjoy the 1.1 release!
